• Only 2 minutes away from the Seward highway. Go North and in 10 to 15 minutes you’ll be in the ‘Big Wild
Life’ of downtown Anchorage (a couple of minutes less if you travel by snow machine or several more if you
take the cross country ski trails)…
• Only 3 minutes from the Southern part of Alaska, going South on the Seward highway (a little more if you travel
by sled dog team)…
• Only seventeen minutes from the Anchorage International Airport (sixteen if you jump off while the sled dogs
are still running).
• Also, here at home, you’re very close to the ocean with a view (from fall to spring) of Cook Inlet’s Turnagain
Arm (with tides of over thirty feet).

If you wish to believe the part about the sled dogs and the snow machines, then Alaskans will be more that happy to regale you with tales of ice worms and snow snakes, igloos and polar bears. And if you ask them they’ll even tell you about fur trout and moose holders. Just be ready for a real treat when they hand you an oosik (just a piece of ivory?), and a poem to read called ‘Ode to the Oosik’. That alone will be enough to astound you with the lengths these Alaskans will go, just to delight themselves at your expense. But honestly though, the part about the tide is true… and we actually do have cross country ski trails that we use as bike trails in the summer (if the snow melts).

Please keep in mind, this is a pet friendly B&B; specifically for those pets who have very kind and responsible owners. There is also a cat who lives here, aka, William Shakespeare. He prowls the premises, seeking someone to talk to and rub up against. Oh, and just so you know, he will occasionally borrow(?) things to play with.

This home is about a block from the ocean, near the southern tip of Anchorage between the highway that takes you to Seward and the Turnagain Arm of the Cook Inlet. And, you’ll be very close to one of the most beautiful parts of Alaska. Just take the drive out of Anchorage on the Seward highway and in less than a minute you’ll see what we mean.
